Events |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Des Moines Valley Region SCCA Rally Championship will consist of four events. All four events counting toward the Rally Championship will be T.S./Q&A rallies (Time Speed/ Question & Answer). If sufficient interest exists we may also schedule additional fun or "gimmick" events, but these will not count toward the Rally Championship. The dates for this year's Championship events can be found on the calendar page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Eligibility |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Although DMVR rallies are open to anyone who wishes to participate, in order to compete for the season long Rally Championship a competitor must be a current member of the Sports Car Club of America. If a rally competitor becomes an SCCA member after the beginning of the season, their most recent event result as a non-member will be counted toward the Championship. It is also required that a Championship competitor must have entered at least two rallies as either a driver or navigator. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Teams |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In order to compete for Championship points, teams will be allowed to have more than just a Registered Driver and Navigator in the vehicle, but will be penalized if they include more than two persons per car. For one or more extra passengers (who can potentially help as extra navigators), the Registered Driver and Navigator will be awarded points equal to one place lower than their actual finishing position. Children age 12 or under with properly signed Minor Release and Waivers will also be allowed to ride along without a penalty. Championship points will be awarded for all participating individuals, with the driver and navigator both being scored equally based on their finishing position, and other participants being awarded the participation points. This is to allow a member to enter an event with a non-member as their teammate, or to enter another event with a different teammate. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Points will be awarded to one Registered
Driver and one Registered Navigator per vehicle based on the following schedule
blatantly ripped off from the Formula 1 scoring system:
