Des Moines Valley Region's entry with its unique Formula 1 style high nose.
Former Indy car champion Gordon Johncock in his entry with his traditional #20. In spite of his obvious skills Mr. Johncock finished behind the DMVR entry in both the Main event and the CEO race!
The DMVR car display at the Mini-GP with the Des Moines skyline in the background. Thanks to Paul Hohlfeld (Miata), Bart Holden (Omni GLH), Ric Johnson (MGB-GT), Wes Krause (Mazda RX-7) and R.E. Wayne Kurschinski (F 500) for providing their cars.
The DMVR team prepares for the qualifying heat race. (Hey Richard, that umbrella is supposed to be over the DRIVER!)
A group of DMVR Road Runners and friends from surrounding regions ready to go for the carnage to come.
Dale Lallier takes a smooth line in the DMVR entry as he pushes forward in the qualifying heat.  A missing front wing attests to the passing duels he's already had.
Corner workers rush to help team captain Tony Siembieda and the DMVR kart off the course following Tony's attempt to do a barrel roll.
Pit stop frenzy in the consolation race! First segment driver Dale Lallier looks on as drafted replacement driver Ric Johnson ("Which way does the track go?") leaps into the DMVR kart.  Tony has recovered enough from his crash to help with the steering wheel as jack man Richard Fisher and wrench man Russ Paper perform the required tire change.
Ric (foreground) unleashes the full fury of the 5 HP Briggs and Stratton with the Des Moines skyline as a backdrop. There don't seem to be any front wings left at this point! In all a successful weekend for the DMVR team with the fastest qualifying time, a second place in the consolation race, and a fourth place in the Main after starting 14th and last.
